Here is what you need to know:
CPVETS functions just like the typical human emergency room. That means there are no appointments. We see our patients on a first come first service basis, unless something critical comes through the door. A patient that is in critical condition takes priority, as does humane euthanasia.
Though we try to be conscious of time, there may be a wait.
We appreciate a phone call and/or referral form before a patient arrives. Please send the form with your client in addition to faxing.
Please fax your forms to (814) 237-4646

What you can expect from us:
We see our job as an adjunct to your (the referring veterinarian) care. We will stabilize and support, then send back to our referring veterinarians for continued care when possible. If an emergent procedure is necessary during their stay with us, we will perform anything we are equipped to handle.
Most orthopedic repairs are referred back out to you after stabilization and supportive care here. We will reduce luxations, splint fractures, and perform amputations, etc.
If we see a patient of yours, a complete chart will be sent to your office when the patient is discharged. Radiographs are checked out to the owner at the end of the patient's stay and they can be emailed to you upon request.
If a patient needs to return to your service for continued care, we will attempt to contact you via phone with an update before the patient is sent (in addition to sending you the complete chart). Most patient's IV or urinary catheters are maintained during transport.
